Anyone remember this counter diner. Or any other by another name? I think that it was 24 hours.
There was a place on 51st and 7th called the B&G. I was there a lot in the mid 1960's. Quite a few comedians and writers hung out there. It did close in the late 60's and became an art gallery for a while.
I am not sure if this is the place I was remembering... no tables, just two big counters..

You know that free turkey that the market gives you for spending way too much money? Here is what to do with it..
Ingredients:
9-12 pound FREE turkey.. smaller is better.
salt pepper
3 cups packaged stuffing mix
1 1/2 tablespoon butter – melted.. or the low fat kind
All the trimmings as needed.
Directions:
If frozen, defrost turkey. Season inside and out with salt and pepper. Prepare stuffing mix according to package directions. Lightly pack cavities with stuffing. Close cavities and fasten with skewers and string. Or some tooth picks. Place on trivet optional.
Brush with melted butter. Or the low fat stuff. Place in liner, or not.
Cover and cook. OPPS.. Turkey too large to cover… Use tin foil as make shift cover.
Cook on low for 9-11 hours or high for 5 hours. Adjust for larger turkeys.
Done when it smells good and is falling of bone.
9-12 pound Roast Turkey serves/makes 15
Serve with all the regular stuff or if this is the extra turkey, tear it apart and freeze in sections. Make soup..
